F\u00fcrstenau and its surroundings offer its recreational travelers a variety of possibilities. Discover the idyllic Emsland region between Rheine in the south, Papenburg in the north, the Dutch border in the west and the Northern Teutoburg Forest Nature Park with Osnabr\u00fcck in the east.<\/p>\n

The Dortmund-Ems Canal, the Ems, the Hase and the Gro\u00dfe Aa, the Alfsee and the Th\u00fclsfelder Talsperre all delight water sports enthusiasts. Cyclists and hikers enjoy the beautiful Hase valley: several thousand fruit trees point the way. The best way is by bike: always follow the hare! A highlight right on our doorstep is Fursten Forest, Europe’s largest area for outdoor activities.
